TSA Gropegate

As a wise man once said…

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

–Ben Franklin

Ben

Ben Franklin is my hero. He was smart, witty, and a sage beyond his years. It’s no wonder he’s on the big money in this country. What he said all those years ago is somehow even more important today.

I’d argue being secure in ones underpants is essential liberty.

I’ll say that again, being secure in ones underpants is ESSENTIAL liberty. The goons at the TSA want in our pants where they have NO RIGHT going.

I haven’t been on an airliner since 2000. Before 2001 there was no TSA. I’d argue that if the 9/11 hijackers attacked today they would probably make it though security with only a few changes in their tactics. The TSA and their grope-fest does nothing to increase our safety.

Come on America, let’s keep giving up more liberty to government goons in the name of security. Why are we as a nation allowing THEM to treat US like criminals and cattle? We are American citizens, not subjects nor property.

The fourth amendment is very clear about this, they are violating our constitutional rights every time they snap naked pictures or pull on the examination gloves.

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

-Emphasis Added

Oh that’s right nobody in the government actually reads the constitution anymore. Hell they don’t even read the blasted bills they sign in congress.

I fear for this once great nation of ours. When VITAL constitutional protections are tossed to the wind in the name of airline safety is there anything they can’t do?

If this was a truly free country and not a rapidly approaching police state one would be able to fly armed. The second amendment doesn’t evaporate just because one decides to travel via a flying aluminum tube.

What amazes me is how many people either support the “Hands On” approach, and body scanners or just shrug their shoulders. Well these people are exemplified by another one of our founding fathers Sam Adams when he said.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!

Amen Sam, amen.

The TSA is one more government Charlie Foxtrot that we need to get rid of. This never ending power-grab from Washington needs to be stopped. Oh and if any of you think I’m blaming Obama, I am, but I blame Bush Jr. even more. He created the blasted TSA. He used the 9/11 crisis to create the infernal TSA, so the seeds of the destruction of essential liberty were sewn back in 2001.

What is the root of this whole problem? Political correctness.

Political correctness?

Yes you heard me right, political cowardice as it should be called is what has enabled the government to tap dance on our liberties. Three year old kids, airline pilots, and Medal of Honor recipients ARE NOT USUALLY TERRORISTS!

Who are terrorists? Typically they are young Muslim men from Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt, and Lebanon, with names like Mohammed, Ahmed, Waleed, and Abdulaziz.

Now granted not all hijackers, terrorists, and other pieces of human excrement are from those nations, but many of them are. The shoe bomber Richard Reid was from the UK, but he was also a radical Muslim.

So there are certain… profiles of the kinds of people who engage in terrorism.

Did you just say PROFILE?

Yes I did, we should profile and search those who are most likely to hijack and blow up airplanes. This pointless groping and nude photo snapping of law abiding Americans must end NOW.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

Ben was also quite the ladies man. What, you think that he went to France just to be an ambassador?
